Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) released the following statement Friday regarding Senator John McCain's selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate and vice presidential candidate:

"As a woman, this is an incredibly exciting day to be involved in the political process," said Capito. "In Gov. Sarah Palin we have the opportunity to elect a noted reformer, a mother and a popular governor from a well-known energy state to be our nation's next vice president."
