The state Lottery Commission turned off 59 Limited Video Lottery Machines at the close of business Wednesday because retailers had chosen not to renew their licenses with the state.
Lottery spokeswoman Nancy Bulla says the decisions by the owners of bars, clubs and video parlors were likely based on a variety of reasons. She says some will probably choose to renew in the coming days.
The Lottery Commission plans to discuss the possibility of requiring a fee to re-start the machines. If approved, that fee wouldn't be in place until license renewal time next October.
