Three Boone County volunteer firefighters are charged with arson after a fire earlier this week in Madison.
Investigators say Dustin Vance of Foster, Gerald Waters III of Madison and Larry Nunnery III of Danville, all 19, admitted to setting the Wednesday evening blaze at a building on 10th Ave. C.
The criminal complaint says the three told police they were sitting around the first station bored and they began experimenting with brake fluid and chlorine. They said later that night they decided to set the blaze.
The three reported the fire and helped those inside the building get out safely.
They've all been arraigned on charges of first-degree arson and conspiracy.
