A Hampshire County teenager is dead after an accident early Thursday morning on Route 10 near Romney.
State Police say 18-year old Cody Joe Raines from Romney was one of three passengers in the vehicle a 20-year old was driving when the driver lost control and hit a tree. Troopers say Raines was thrown out of the vehicle.
The driver, 20-year old Nathan Scott Wells of Romney, and another passenger, 18-year old David Michael Paugh from Augusta, were taken to Hampshire Memorial Hospital.
The third passenger, 20-year old Kevin Michael Delaplain of Shanks, was flown by Maryland State Police Medevac to Cumberland Memorial Hospital.
The accident happened at about 4:45 on Thursday morning.
Units from the Romney Fire Department, the Romney Rescue Squad, Lamberts Ambulance Service and the Augusta Rescue Squad were on scene.
