A Raleigh County man is dead after an ATV accident early Thursday morning.

The Raleigh County Sheriff's Department says Paul Michael Shrewsbury, Jr., 35, of Crab Orchard was riding an ATV on Sullivan Road in Glen Morgan at about 1:50 a.m. when he lost control of the four-wheeler.

Investigators say the ATV hit a guardrail throwing Shrewsbury off the machine and over an embankment. He was dead when emergency crews arrived on the scene.
