The state Supreme Court has rejected an appeal attempt by a Greenbrier County-based citizens group.

The High Court voted 5-0 Thursday against Mountain Communities for Responsible Energy's case to stop the construction of dozens of wind turbines by Beech Ridge Energy.

The $300 million project has received the required approvals from the state Public Service Commission.

The decision from the Supreme Court likely clears the way for construction to begin.
