LISTEN NOW! Tim Gibson Reports: Officer Shooting 911 Tapes
A woman riding in a truck that lead Charleston Police on a high-speed chase and ended in the death of the driver and a Charleston Police Officer has found herself in another incident with police in the Pinch area.

"I did not do nothing tonight. I shouldn't even be here," Natasha Light said through tears in Kanawha County Magistrate Court Monday evening.

Light, 24, was the female passenger in Brian Good's truck the night he and Patrolman Jerry Jones were killed by gunfire over a week ago. Charleston Police were trying to get Good to pullover for a hit and run that weekend. Radio traffic from Metro 911 detailed a woman, later identified as Light, throwing objects including a toolbox and beer bottles at officers.

"It wasn't my choice to be in that truck that night. I'm not having an easy time with that," Light told Kanawha County Magistrate Carol Fouty.

The latest incident she was arrested for Monday was unrelated. State Police were looking for Light's husband, 27-year-old Jeremy Light, on charges of failing to register as a sex offender.

Troopers say the responding officer found the couple at an apartment on South Pinch Road. Police also arrested Natasha's Light's brother who was renting the apartment, Shane Meadows. According to troopers, Meadows tried to deny Jeremy Light was staying at his home.

Meadows' wife eventually told police the couple was staying in a back bedroom. Police found the two lying on a mattress there. According to the police report filed in Magistrate Court, Light tried to elbow the arresting officer in the knee resulting in a charge of battery of a police officer.

The report goes on to say Natasha Light became combative holding on to her husband and kissing him in the middle of the arrest. Police then ordered her to stand to make sure she had no weapons hidden in her blanket, but she refused saying she wasn't wearing pants.

Officers say they grabbed her, made her stand, and asked the sister-in-law to bring pants when they discovered Light was wearing only underwear and a t-shirt. As police were taking her to the police cruiser, they say she then became belligerent refusing to be arrested. The reports said the young woman yelled at the officer calling him a 'pig' as well as a list of profanities. Troopers also said she kicked the arresting officer several times trying to escape.

Natasha Light was charged with battery of a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. She is being held at the South Central Regional on $1500 cash bond. Light is also scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on previous battery charges Tuesday in another incident.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Light is facing a felony for failing to register as a sex offender as well as a misdemeanor battery charge. He is at South Central on $6000 surety bond.

No word on what charges will be filed for Shane Meadows.
