A Huntington man will spend more than two years in federal prison for stealing mail from the U.S. Postal Service.
Matthew Pennington, 29, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Huntington after an earlier guilty plea back in April.
Pennington helped steal four bags of mail, containing $13,000, from a U.S. Postal truck parked near Prichard in Wayne County in October 2008. Pennington and Edward Jackson took the bags and then tried to make it look like the truck had broken down.
Jackson was sentenced to five years probation. Pennington failed to appear for his original sentencing date.
