A Kanawha County man is dead after an accident on a motorcycle Wednesday evening in Clendenin.

Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies say 40-year old Raymond Pauley of Amma lost control of his bike on US 119/Elk River Road at around 7:00 and struck a concrete culvert.

According to investigators, Pauley was heading south and was passing two other cars in a no passing zone at a high rate of speed.

The bike hit a concrete culvert at the road's edge and Pauley was thrown from the bike. 

He died instantly.
