It could take some time to identify a body found in a burning vehicle Thursday in Randolph County.
A hunter came across the burning black Chevrolet pickup truck with a body inside of it in the Monongahela National Forest and alerted authorities. It was found in the Lower Cheat Road, just east of Elkins on Thursday afternoon.
Officials with the Randolph County Sheriff's Department say the body was burned beyond recognition and it'll be up to workers with the state Medical Examiner's Office to identify it.
Those with the state Fire Marshal's Office are also involved in the investigation.
