The state Public Service Commission has set a new deadline for a decision on the proposed Potomac Appalachian Transmission Highline or PATH.
In an order issued Tuesday, the Commission moved the deadline to February 24th, 2011 as part of an adjusted procedural schedule.
According to that new schedule, evidentiary hearings on the proposed 756 kilovolt power line project that could run through 14 West Virginia counties will not begin until October 18th, 2010.
The original deadline for a decision had been June 22nd, 2010.
Those with American Electric Power and Allegheny Energy recommended a delay earlier this Fall after Maryland's regulatory commission threw out the PATH application there. That application will be refiled.
The companies have until December 3rd of this year to object to the new schedule.
PATH could eventually cover more than 200 miles from Putnam County all the way to Kemptown, Maryland.
