The FBI Center in Clarksburg has received over $328 million in federal money to build a new Biometrics Technology Center.
The 360,000 ssuare-foot building will double the size of the campus the FBI currently occupies. This will allow the bureau to consolidate several satellite operations focuse on biometrics into one building.
The center will develop new identification methods to be used by the FBI and military such asDNA and facial recognition software. Agents will also be trained on how to use this technology.
The announcement of the appropriation was made Thursday by U.S. Senator Robert C. Byrd's Office.
