Mountaineer head coach basketball Bob Huggins has signed his first Top 100 recruit at West Virginia. Six-foot-eight-inch power forward Kevin Jones from Mount Vernon, N.Y., signed with the Mountaineers on Wednesday, the first day of the national letter of intent signing period.
Jones is ranked by Scout.com as the 12th best power forward in the nation the 48th best overall. He picked the Mountaineers over offers from Pitt, Indiana, Massachusetts, Seton Hall and Rutgers.
Jones averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds last season at Mount Vernon High School. Jones will join Roscoe Davis from Hargrave Military Academy and Darryl "Truck" Bryant from the Bronx, N.Y., as members of the 2008 recruiting class.
