No concert this spring at Milan Puskar Stadium. Promoters have cancelled the Gridiron Bash featuring Dwight Yoakam that was scheduled for April 18th at Milan Puskar Stadium. The concert was going to coincide with the Gold-Blue game which will be played April 19th. Promoters say the cancellation is due to confusion over an NCAA rule that would prohibit the involvement of players in the promotion of the event. Promoters were going to use players to participate in a pep rally to promote the event and would be given free admission to the concert, both of which are NCAA violations.
MSL Sports and Entertainment say it was a last-minut interpretation of rules that forced the postponement of the concerts, but NCAA officials told USA Today that MSL did not contact the NCAA to ensure complaince until last week.
MSL Sports and Entertainment says it will postpone the 16 shows that were scheduled to take place the night before spring football games at universities across the country. Instead the promoter hopes to hold the concerts in the fall or next spring.
